Men

In our modern world, men are also under pressure to conform to a ‘hyper-masculine’ prototype.  Often they were initially motivated to change their eating to manipulate their body shape, trying to seek approval from others. 

You may have used food as way to nurture and soothe when things got difficult and if you had limited support. And while this worked really well initially, if this is your only learned way of managing emotions, it can become harmful or not as helpful over time.
