Individual Therapy

Welcome!

Who I work with

If you’re wondering if I’m a good fit for you, know that I work with adults (aged 21 years and older) to help create peace with food and their body.  My clients are tired of struggling with food, as they often have done every diet in the world. Perhaps they have struggled with disordered eating, or are currently struggling. They know diets and rigid ways of eating don’t “work” and they see the harm that this way of eating has done on their mind and body. So they seek a way of eating that is less confusing and carries less judgement.  That they no longer want to feel out of control with their eating. They want to learn to support their emotional health more effectively.  And they want to start caring for their body.

I aim to create a safe space for all of my clients, but particularly those that have suffered the greatest oppression of their bodies, specifically people in large bodies, those that have suffered trauma, women, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, and people that identify with more than one of these groups. I also welcome men, as they don’t have equal access to supports around disordered eating. Basically, I want you to know that you’re welcome here!

(Please note: I am only able to see clients, individually, that live within the following Canadian provinces: BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

If you live outside of Canada or these areas, you can still access my help at my upcoming Connected Eating Workshop.

Alternatively, you can find similar providers in your area via the National Eating Disorder Information Centre in Canada or the National Eating Disorder Association in the US or in your local area.).

My approach

I work from a trauma-informed, emotion-focussed, weight-inclusive, anti-diet or non-diet approach (such as Health at Every Size® (HAES) and Intuitive Eating (IE)).  That means that I work with my clients to find a way of eating that supports their life and body.  I do not work to help my clients intentionally change their body size or shape.  But rather use foundational nutrition concepts to build confidence in my clients that they know how to eat and care for themselves.

Workspace
